New Travel Grants to Support Diversity in Study Abroad

It is important that all students have access to study abroad opportunities, and this Global Skills Opportunity is going to make it so that CIP can better support traditionally underrepresented students in study abroad. Only Guard.Me’s systems were compromised; no University of Guelph systems were affected. More information is available on Guard.ME’s website

Call for S22 Field School Proposals

CIP is looking for academic departments and faculty to offer 2-6 week international field schools in summer 2022. Fields schools are based on a collaborative partnership that brings faculty expertise and collegial connections together with CIP’s experience in financial and risk management, and a central online application system. Essentially, departments provide the academic content and teaching, and CIP assists with logistics and some supportive funding. The deadline for proposals is Wednesday, June 23, 2021.

Cancellation of Outbound F21 Study Abroad Programs

On Wednesday, April 28 the Centre for International Programs made the decision to cancel the Fall 2021 exchange programs. As always, the health and safety of our students is our main priority.

Cancellation of Incoming F21 Exchange Program

Unfortunately, due to Canadian travel restrictions and a lack of space in our residence system, we are unable to receive exchange students for the fall 2021 semester. We hope to resume incoming exchange in January 2022 and any incoming exchange student that would like to defer their exchange to that time, should contact the international office at their home institution to see if that is possible.
We are sorry that we won't be able to accept any students this fall, but we hope that students have a successful semester at their home universities.

Summer 2021 programs will not be running

After much consideration, the University of Guelph is cancelling face-to-face exchange and other study abroad programs for Summer 21 (incoming and outbound). Our students will therefore not be able to participate in any short-term summer programs offered by our partners, and will not be able to go on exchange to Australia, New Zealand or Fiji where the semester starts in July.
